Terrorism coverage, for both foreign and domestic events, is included as a covered reason under the Trip Cancellation benefit of all Tin Leg policies. In order to be covered under this benefit, an event must be deemed as an official terrorist incident by the U.S. Department of State. The policy must be purchased before the event has occurred. Can I insure frequent flyer miles in the cost of my trip?
Frequent flyer miles and similar travel awards, such as hotel or motel awards, cannot be included in the trip cost for your covered trip. The value of air miles and rewards points are not insurable expenses on a travel insurance policy because there is no exact dollar value to associate with the points. However, you can insure any out-of-pocket expenses related to the miles, such as taxes. Re-banking fees can also be insured.
