What does Non-Medical Evacuation cover?

In the event of a catastrophe, Non-Medical Evacuation provides transportation from a place of danger to a place of safety. The events that are considered a “catastrophe”€, and qualify for this benefit, differ depending on the travel insurance policy.

All Tin Leg policies define a catastrophe as €œa violent and destructive natural event causing a sudden change in a feature of the earth. Catastrophe includes but is not limited to earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, mudslides, and other similar destructive natural disasters. If a qualifying event occurs, coverage includes transportation costs that have been reviewed and pre-approved by Tin Leg, and are subject to the maximum benefit shown in the policy.

Tin Leg’€™s Standard and Luxury policies offer Non-Medical Evacuation coverage of $50,000 per traveler. This benefit is not included in Tin Leg’s Economy policy.

In an emergency situation, Tin Leg advises their customers to contact Tin Leg’€™s 24 hour Emergency Assistance as soon as reasonably possible. This service will coordinate the appropriate Emergency Non-Medical Evacuation arrangements. This number is listed on the traveler’€™s confirmation documentation and virtual ID card from Tin Leg.
